Devin Haney keeps facing Joseph “Jojo” Diaz

American Devin Haney retained his World Boxing Council (WBC) light belt, after defeating compatriot Joseph “Jojo” Diaz by unanimous decision in a fight held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The hero came out in control and imposed his hand speed and ability to reach the extremely passive Diaz.

Diaz reacted in the fourth round and from that moment began to tie strong hands. Haney slowed Diaz’s pressure by responding to the counter, but his punches didn’t hurt Diaz.

Seeing as he was trailing behind and technically inferior, Diaz looked for the knockout but found Haney who showed off his good moves and quick hands on the counter.

In the last round, Diaz went out looking for a knockout and left Haney afflicted at times, and seemed to be able to turn the fight around, but Haney quickly recovered and ended up with even control.

Haney won by unanimous decision 117-111, 117-111, 116-112.

With this victory, Haney is still undefeated with a record (27-0 with 15 checkpoints), while Diaz (32-2-1 with 15 KOs).

Haney showed off his amazing boxing against a complex opponent, but he showed off his small punches once again. With this victory, Haney will seek to unite the titles against the last WBA, IBF and WBO champion George Campos.
