Although Microsoft had stopped selling Windows XP, it had permitted certain PC brands to sell PCs that are ‘factory downgraded’ to the older operating systems from Windows 7. This end to this practice is expected to go into effect by the 22nd of October.

“This means that we will stop offering XP as an option for customers starting this month in preparation for next month’s deadline,” the official Dell blog post said.
