Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Edward Norton has spoken up about the recent hullabaloo regarding “The Avengers” film. After Marvel fired him and insulted him in public, the actor/director managed to deliver a classy response for the benefit of his fans.
Edward Norton Speak On The Avengers
Marvel exec Kevin Feige said that they fired the 40-year-old Oscar nominee, who played the titular superhero in “The Incredible Hulk” in 2008, because he doesn’t embody the “creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members,” which can only mean he is not talented enough.
Norton’s agent fired back, saying the studio is just attempting to paint him in a negative light.
But the “Fight Club” star himself is putting on a brave face for his fans.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “I am so appreciative of the outpouring of support from fans of the Hulk and the Avengers that I feel it would be rude not to respond. So here goes: It seems it won’t work out for me to continue playing Bruce Banner for Marvel in ‘The Avengers.’ I sincerely hoped it could happen and be great for everyone, but it hasn’t turned out as we all hoped.”
“I know this is disappointing to many people and that makes me sad. But I am very sincerely grateful to Marvel for extending the offer and even more so for giving me the chance to be a part of the Hulk’s long and excellent history.”
He ended his lengthy post with: “Hulk is bigger than all of us, that’s why we love him, right?”
Marvel is expected to announce his replacement on a later date.
