Stephanie Sims – AHN Entertainment Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – “Modern Family’s” episode on Wednesday, October 6 on ABC should be a load of laughs. Nathan Lane and Vic Polizos, who has guest-starred in a number of comedies and dramas, will guest star in the episode.

An earthquake hits, leaving Claire (Julie Bowen) stuck in the bathroom with the plumber, played by Polizos. Manny experiences an existential crisis while out with Jay (Ed O’Neill), and Mitchell and Cameron (Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet) dig themselves a lie they have trouble getting out of when they use the quake to get out of a themed brunch party thrown by their friend, Pepper, played by Nathan Lane.

This will be Polizos’ second guest-star appearance this year; he guest starred on “Desperate Housewives” earlier this year. Previously, Polizos has guest-starred on “Raising the Bar,” “CSI” and “Boston Legal.”

Lane has guest-starred on various sitcoms in the last few years, including “30 Rock,” and has appeared in or lent his voice to several films, including “Swing Vote,” “Astro Boy,” and “The Producers.”

Joel McHale, Alison Brie Talk Second Season Of "Community"

Posted on 24 September 2010 by Staff Writer

Anthony Jones – AHN Entertainment Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – NBC’s “Community” is about to start its sophomore year and the community college-set comedy is bringing out the big guns for its second season: Betty White. Everything White touches as of late turns, well, “Golden” and her turn as anthropology professor June Bauer is no exception.

But if you tune in for the Betty, stay for the love triangle, which has had star Joel McHale’s character Jeff Winger having to choose between his gorgeous co-stars Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, and Lauren Stamile. And if that’s not your cup of tea, the show’s second season will feature guest spots from Drew Carey and Rob Cordroy, and will include a zombie-themed episode and a stop-motion animated holiday episode.

But while McHale, also host of E!’s weekly clip show “The Soup,” may joke that the sexual chemistry with White on set was palpable, the truth is she gets to have him in a chokehold by the end of the episode. That in itself makes it worth watching.

AHN: Joel, since you’ve kissed just about every female character on the show by now, I’m going to assume naturally that Betty or Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) is next in line?

Joel McHale: It’s been, believe me, a very strange year. My wife is like, ‘Who did you make out with today?’ And I’m like, ‘Funny you should ask.’ And it’s a very strange thing.

AHN: Alison, who are you rooting for to get Jeff?

Alison Brie: It’s a tough one. I kind-of choose not to take sides in that Annie versus Britta thing. I don’t know. I feel like there are pros and cons to both relationships and maybe Jeff does need to be on his own for a little while.

JM: Maybe Jeff has an accident and accidentally castrates himself and has to keep it a secret for years.

AHN: What upcoming scene do you think would be good to poke fun of on “The Soup”?

AB: There’s a fight scene, an Annie and Britta fight scene.

JM: Yeah, the fight scene would be good.

AHN: Or maybe Betty White kicking your ass?

JM: Yeah, that would be a good one too.

The second season of NBC’s “Community” premieres Thursday, September 23rd at 8pm.

Sarah Palin Thought Bristol’s "DWTS" Performance Was "Great"

Posted on 23 September 2010 by Staff Writer

Stephanie Sims – AHN Entertainment Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Extra security was added for Sarah Palin to attend “Dancing with the Stars” for its first episode live in the studio. The former vice presidential candidate Palin watched her daughter Bristol perform.

Though Bristol’s partner, Mark Ballas, previously said she was uncomfortable to be dancing before a massive audience, Sarah insisted her daughter is thrilled to be competing in the ABC reality show. “She’s having the time of her life, and we are thankful. This is a story of perseverance, taking personal responsibility, and keeping her head up while having faith. What seems like a great challenge can turn into a great blessing,” she told In Touch magazine.

The 19-year-old mother of 20-month-old son Tripp with ex Levi Johnston performance was a big hit with her mother – and also her hometown. “She was great! It was so much fun watching her. We had a party in our living room, and local businesses had ‘Dance Bristol Dance’ signs around town. Folks were cheering her on!” Sarah told In Touch magazine. Bristol’s cha-cha to “Mama Told Me (Not to Come),” featured choreography that seemed to play off her mother’s conservative image; Bristol tore off a suit to reveal a sexy red dress in the performance.

After a split, then reconciliation, then split again from Johnston, and accusations that Johnston just wanted fame, it looks like Bristol got what her ex wanted – a legitimate place in reality TV stardom.
